Professional Development sessions are available for both small or large groups across the content areas, specializing in secondary math. Session lengths can span from one hour up to several days, depending on the number of topics selected. Our PD sessions are engaging, interactive, and can be customized based on the unique needs of your teachers/staff. Sample topics: First Day Basics, New Teacher Basics, Getting Back to the Basics - focusing on classroom management, student engagement, building relationships, classroom organization, lesson planning, technology integration. Working in a True PLC - focusing on team building, analyzing data, creating SMART Goals, creating, using and analyzing common assessments, common planning, teacher rounds, etc. Student Engagement and Rigor - focus on what student engagement and rigor is and is not, and how to improve both in classes, etc. Algebra 1: Standards and Strategies - focusing on understanding and using the Algebra 1 Blueprint, unwrapping the standards and using strategies to teach the standards, navigation of the state department website to discover resources, successfully preparing for the Algebra 1 EOC, etc. Secondary Math Vertical Articulation - focus on Unwrapping the SCCCR Secondary Math Standards, how they relate to each other as students progress from grade to grade (6-12), and the importance of collaboration. Payment is negotiable and based on the duration of the Professional Development sessions provided.
